Born in Mumbai, India and now based in Singapore, I have lived across six countries over the last three decades. Amid changing environments, academic degrees, corporate careers, three pregnancies and raising my three wonderfully energetic boys, one thing has remained constant: my art. Over the past decade, what began as a hobby has grown into a parallel career. Alongside my studio practice, I am a full-time Visual Arts teacher at an international school, teaching across British and International Baccalaureate curricula and working with students of diverse ages and learning needs. My work has been exhibited in several community exhibitions, and I have participated in a group exhibition with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. I was also part of the mural team that created the artwork for the Jain Sthanak in Singapore, and my work now forms part of the collection at the Asian Civilisations Museum. I do take commissions for portraits, but can be choosy about what I decide to take on. My practice has evolved from portraiture into mixed-media abstraction, where experimentation with materials and process lies at the heart of my work.
